Philosophy
First, Cross Country is for
everyone. Every athlete will be equally
valued regardless of their ability and they will participate in most of our
meets. Also, performance will be
stressed over place, improvement will be stressed over winning, and personal
records will be stressed over points.
Second, Cross Country is
rewarding. Every athlete will be
challenged to improve physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally because
emphasis will be put on our team norms of commitment, collaboration, courage,
and class. As a result, their lives will
be positively impacted now and in the future.
Third, Cross Country is a
family. Every athlete will be involved
in lots of different activities and extraordinary team camaraderie will develop
over time. In addition, parents will be
highly encouraged to cheer at meets, help with fundraisers, and provide
nutritional items.
